There’s been an extra buzz of excitement around The Grainstore in Blandford lately! While our commercial site is home to many fantastic businesses, one of our long-standing tenants has recently been enjoying the limelight. We are thrilled to announce that the BBC dropped by The Old Grainstore Emporium to film for an upcoming episode of the hit show, Antiques Road Trip.

A Long-Awaited Spotlight

The BBC has actually had the Emporium on their radar for a while. They were originally set to visit a couple of years ago but ran out of time on their route. This year, they made sure not to miss out, choosing the Emporium as the very last stop for antique expert Raj Bisram.

Raj has been traversing the Dorset countryside with fellow expert Izzie Balmer for their latest leg of the trip, and we were delighted that they chose our site to wrap up their filming.

What is Antiques Road Trip?

For those who haven’t caught this popular Antiques Roadshow spin-off, the premise is high-stakes and great fun: two experts are given a budget and a classic car, then sent on a week-long road trip across the UK. Their mission is to find hidden gems in shops like The Old Grainstore Emporium and sell them at auction for a profit—with all proceeds going to charity.

The Big Secret

Raj spent his time scouring the many treasures inside the Emporium, looking for that one “diamond in the rough” to take to auction. While we had a wonderful time hosting the production crew on-site, there is one thing we strictly cannot tell you: exactly what he bought!The production team is keeping the item under wraps until the show airs, so we’ll all have to wait and see if Raj’s find at the Emporium becomes the week’s big winner.

When to Watch

The episode is expected to air in early 2027. We know it’s a while to wait, but the production team will let us know the exact date closer to the time.In the meantime, why not come down to Blandford and do some “expert” scouting of your own at the Emporium?
