For the purpose of General Data Protection Regulation, we (as defined and detailed in our websites) are the Data Controller.

Our Privacy Promise

What information we collect about you and why?

We may collect information about your computer, including, where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual. For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. They help us to improve our websites and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable us to:
• estimate our audience size and usage pattern;
• store information about your preferences, and so allow us to customise our site according to your individual interests;
• speed up your searches; and
• recognise you when you return to our site.

George Estates Tenants
By signing a Lease or Agreement with George Estates Ltd. you become a Tenant of George Estates Ltd. and we retain the contact information that you provide. Telephone numbers and email addresses are held in case we need to get in touch with you urgently. If you choose not to give us this personal information, it may delay or prevent us from meeting our obligations. It may also mean that we cannot perform services needed to operate your Lease or Agreement. It could mean that we cancel a Lease or Agreement you have with us. We will keep your personal information for as long as you are a Tenant of George Estates Ltd. After you stop being a Tenant, we may keep your data for up to 10 years to respond to any complaints, to show you that we treated you fairly and to maintain records.

How we process and store your information
The data that we collect from you is processed by staff who work for George Estates Ltd. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, the fulfilment of your order, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers.

Marketing
When contacting George Estates Ltd. we may use your personal information to tell you about relevant products, services and offers. This is what we mean when we talk about ‘marketing’. We can only use your personal information to send you marketing messages if we have either your consent or a ‘legitimate interest’. You can ask us to stop sending you marketing messages by contacting us at any time. In addition you can unsubscribe from our marketing emails.

Is your information shared with any third parties?
We do not share your information with any third parties for marketing purposes. We do, however, use third party software to send out emails. Currently we use Mailchimp. If this changes we will let you know in advance by email.

Can I ask you what information you hold about me and ask to have it changed?
Yes, you can ask us what information we hold about you and we will make this available to you within 10 working days. We will also correct any information that we hold about you that is incorrect. Customers can ask to be removed from our database list at any time by using the contact details at the bottom of this privacy statement, or you can unsubscribe by using the links on the bottom of our marketing emails. We will process this request as soon as reasonably possible, but usually within 5 working days.

Social Media
If you access our social media sites, i.e. Facebook, then we may obtain information about you through that site. This is information that you have made available on social media to share publicly. Please check the Privacy Policy of the social media site that you use.

Third party links
You will find links to third party websites on our websites. These websites should have their own Privacy Policies which you should check. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies whatsoever as we have no control over them.
